when I said I loved sundaes, I meant the ice cream kind

Sunday has never been my favorite day of the week.

Just knowing that when I fall asleep on Sunday night I will wake up to the blaring of the alarm clock on Monday morning is enough to sour the entire day for me.  I think it might actually make me a little cranky all day long.

Funny thing about today, it wasn’t a bad day at all.

The weather (minus the expected thunderstorms) was downright tropical.  There was a strong wind blowing all day, and it managed to slightly cool the steamy air to a point where it was comfortable.  I had every window in the house open and the curtains were flying around in the gusts of wind.

We spent a large part of the day outside playing in the yard—the dogs, my husband, and me.  My husband is still working on the raised planting beds for his vegetable garden.  Our dogs thought the beds were put in for them.  Like actual beds.  They were laying in them, so we built a garden fence to keep the “rabbits” out.   I just hope we get some actual vegetables in there.  I’m looking forward to home grown food.  The kids don’t agree.  They think the vegetable gardens are signaling a turn toward a vegetarian lifestyle.  I think the garden just mean we won’t have to make as many trips to the farmers market.  My husband’s thoughts may hover somewhere in between.  I guess time will tell.  For now I’m just trying to get ready for another full work week.  I need to get some sleep tonight if I’m going to be worth anything at all in the morning.  I try so hard to cram so much into the weekend, I never seem to find the time for sleep.  Sleep and I used to be such good friends.  I sort of hope we reconnect soon.  Maybe we can take a few days and catch up on lost time.  I do have vacation coming up soon.  That would be a perfect time to catch up on lost sleep.

Until the next time…I’ll be brushing up on my dreaming skills!
